As part of your 2 week trial, you'll meet with one of our Fitness Trainers who will assess your fitness level. The Trainer will then take you through Avalon Woods' unique, state-of-the-art equipment designed for everyone from the athletic to those with less mobility, including those in wheelchairs. You will have unlimited access to the club and classes during the 2 week trial period.


For more than 20 years, Sensei Martin Van Zanten has been dedicated to personal improvement through fitness training. His years of experience as a Martial Arts instructor and fitness consultant has given him the opportunity to share his knowledge and expertise with many people who also share the same enthusiasm and dedication in improving their own lives.

Personal training benefits people because many lack the motivation to stay with a consistent exercise program. A good trainer will introduce you to a very simple, effective routine and help you stay on track, whether it be to lose weight and get into shape or improve your strength and endurance. If you have any chronic health conditions, injuries or training goals (running a marathon, for example) a trainer will work with you and your health care provider to plan a safe, efficient program that considers these needs and enables you to reach your health goals.

Our approach to wellness is about quality, not quantity. A patient is never rushed out the door in order to push more patients through. Our focus is, first and foremost, on the patient putting their rehabilitation requirements ahead of everything else. More than sufficient time is spent at every visit to ensure the patient's needs are met, because with rehabilitation, you want to get it right the first time.
Nicholas Bradley - Physiotherapist

Nick graduated from Dalhousie University with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy in 2010. He has completed advanced courses in neuro-proprioceptive taping, cardio-respiratory physiotherapy and chest techniques, and keeps up to date on current manual therapy practices. A registered NCCP lacrosse coach for several years, he coached extensively at the university and amateurs levels in Atlantic Canada, and is currently the offensive coordinator for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.

Juan Luis Echevarria - RMT

Juan's talents include Advanced Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Structural Balance, Swedish Massage, Thai Massage, Indie Head Massage, Suikodo, Lomi Lomi and also many of the energy based techniques like Reiki and Reflexology.
Juan, a graduate of the ICT Kikkawa College Clinic, is experienced in the assessment and treatment of clients with a variety of conditions such as sports injury, ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) general acute and chronic orthopaedic injuries and neurological conditions such as stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and peripheral nerve damage utilizing various techniques within the scope of practice of Registered Massage Therapy.
His experience extends to the assessment and treatment of individuals aged 12 and older with a variety of sports injuries and general musculoskeletal dysfunctions such as strain, sprain and chronic headaches, and of course healthy individuals seeking a relaxation massage.
Adam graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelors of Human Kinetics in 2013. He has extensive experience working within a dynamic range of rehabilitation settings. He has acted as a Personal Trainer, Exercise Program Director for disabled adults as well as Physiotherapy and Chiropractic assistant. He believes strongly in educating his clients in order to empower them to become accountable for their own health. Adam is an avid athlete himself participating in Triathlons and Fitness competitions.

Mike graduated from Brock University with a Masters of Science in Kinesiology in 2013 and is also certified as an
"Older Adult Fitness Specialist".
During his graduate studies, Mike worked as a laboratory instructor (Muscle Physiology & Exercise Metabolism) and research assistant in several exercise physiology studies. Mike enjoys prescribing and delivering exercise programs according to people’s goals and needs. Mike also has a strong passion for soccer and has played for several top level teams in Greece.
